Whitchurch Hill Camera Club & Kayleigh Stockings
The 17th November saw another studio night organised by myself and fellow club member at my local camera club Whitchurch Hill Camera Club. We had the pleaseure of shooting with Kaylieigh Stocking, who was excellent and someone we will definitely book again.

Gibson and Sandra – Trinity Church Abingdon, Oxfordshire
Abingdon is one of several places that clain to be Britain’s oldest continuously occupied town, with people having lived there for at least 6,000 years. Anyway thats the history lesson over. Gibson and Sandra attend Trinity Church, so it was the obvious choice for their wedding. Lots of traditional wedding celebrations made the speeches and evening a very special day.
Andy and Jo – Marriot Hotel Swindon
We seemed to have a few very hot days this summer, and it was just so on 23rd April 2011, okay April is still technically spring, but it was still hot!
Goring Craft Fair 5th and 6th November..
We will be attending Goring Craft Fair this year with a variety of photographic prints for sale including some of the images below.
The aim of the Craft Fair is to raise money for the RNLI, a worthy cause I’m sure you will agree.

Niall and Lauretta – Beaumont House, Old Windsor, Berkshire
I had the pleasure of covering the photography for Niall and Lauretta at the stunning 17th Century Beaumont House, Old Windsor, Berkshire. A sunny day, and with everything going, you need to keep your cool, literally because the air conditioning in the room couldn’t keep up.
Boys will be boys….
On one of Jamies days at home we decided to go to the local park as he wanted to ride his scooter and bike around the skate park while there were no ‘big boys’ there. He likes to watch then do there tricks on the skate park, and for a little boy approacing his 3rd birthday there was no stopping him as he went around the park. He had a few minor ‘offs’ but got up and had another go.
Of course whilst walking across the field on the way back to the car, he decided he didn’t want to pull his scooter as he was tired. Boys will be boys…
Scotland and the Isle of Skye
We took a short break to Scotland a few weeks ago.
Time to try and relax and breath some of the clean, which wasn’t a problem because the high winds blew the fresh are straight in to your face. Anyway, we enjoyed the few days we spent there.
Staying in Drumnadrochit (Druim na Drochaid), meant that we mainly stayed in the west and travelling to the Isle of Skye to see the sights for a day. I’m sure we will visit again and spend more time on Skye, as a day just doesn’t do it justice and for a photographer, there’s always something new to find.
So we start the whistle-stop tour on the way to Skye and stopping off at Eilean Donan Castle, one of Scotlands most iconic buildings. And on the way back we had to stop for the night time shot too.
With an OS map in hand, we decided to take the A855 north and pick a few locations along the way.
Now we are at Mealt Falls with Kilt Rock behind, and Loch Mealt in black and which is opposite the car park for the falls.
Off again, and resisting the many photographic opportunities, apart from this next scene of Sron Vourlinn. And no I didn’t stand in the water, which makes a change.
It took me a while to find out the names of the mountains in the shot, but I believe we have, (from the left) Glamaig, Beinn Dearg.
On the way back down the A87 we stopped at Eas a Bhradain waterfall which runs in to Lock Ainort. We passed it on the way up, but it was pouring with rain, and we didn’t fancy getting wet.
Time was getting on and getting tired and hungry we headed back to the hotel with only a stop for a night shot of Eilean Donan Castle. A busy and full day, but a good one.
The next day saw a challenge, The Cairn Gorm Mountain, with its summit 1245 metres (4084 ft) above sea level. Part of way up we did wonder what the hell we were doing, but kept on going, after all you can’t go there and not finish it.
With something to drink and eat (cake!) at the Ptarmigan Restaurant, which is the highest restaurant in the UK at 1,097m we set off the final leg to the summit.

The final morning was more relaxed as we checked out a few locations near the hotel. We found the interesting Fasnakyle Free Church (1868), now closed and in disrepair. Still there was a congregation of four sheep.
Lastly as the did its best to highlight the landscape, we grabbed a couple of shots near Chambered Cairn at Corrimony off the A831.
Then it was back to Inverness airport for the flight home, until next time…
Daniel and Suzanne – St James the Less, Pangbourne, Berkshire
Its great to travel to new churches and location for wedding, but its equally nice to have a local one. And this time it was the St James the Less in Pangbourne.
This church is one of a few select churches dedicated to St James the son of Alpheus and Mary of Cleophas, who may have been the sister of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Its amazing what you can find on the internet.
Anyway, on to Daniel and Suzanne who both looked great and kept cool and calm throughout…..
John and Mary, St John the Baptist Church,Caversham
Sun, rain, sun, more rain, heavy rain, a bit of sun…you get the picture.
That didn’t dampen spirits though. John and Mary were great and took it all in their stride. The restored and much loved Trabant had a outing too.
Robert and Michelle – Isleworth to Wraysbury
A fun packed day shooting the wedding of Robert and Michelle. From the beautiful St Bridgets Catholic Church, Isleworth and on to Wraysbury for the entertainment and a great evening of dancing there was too!
